Phenomenal... Outstanding... Brilliant!!! All this is just an understatement... 

This is a kind of movie I always love to watch. The movie is about a child Ishant Awasthi ( Darsheel Safary) who suffers from some neurological disease. For him 'd' would be 'b' and 5 would be S. After failing in 3rd standard once and on the path to failing once more, his parents take him to a boarding school in the mid of the year. Nobody understood his problem, and just assumed that he is extremely mischievious and wants to run away from studies. The boarding school takes away his freedom, and he gets into the shell completely. His creative mind takes toll, he loses interest in everything and believes that he is useless.

The 1st half is all about Ishant. He is a wonder kid. Brilliant acting for a kid of his age. It shows how a  kid undergoes humiliation in the school, undergoes punishments from his father, how he bunks school for some freedom, everything shown just reflects how each child with inability to read and write or basically study properly must be feeling when he is forced to do so. He has done well in all aspects - Humour, Sad Emotions and general acting. 

Can you read a Chinese Script, or Kannada, or Russian?? In the 2nd half when Aamir takes over the stage, he analyses the childs problem. He decides to meet the parents and comes  across things which he never thought about Ishant. He had a highly creative mind. We could see that from his paintings that he had made. But his only problem was associating what he is reading with what he is writing. Associating what words and characters he is writing and what they actually meant.

Not accepting this problem of Ishant, Ishant's father just rejects Aamir's claims. Aamir just holds a chinese script in front of his father, and asks him to read, and behaves with Ishant's father in the same way, Ishants father behaved with Ishant, when he cud'nt read. His father understood the problem.

The 2nd part of the movie shows how Aamir helps the guy come out of his inability and gets the best out of his creative mind. Its actually a must watch for all the parents and going to be parents.

All the actors have just fit in well in the story. Tisca - Ishants mother in the move - is a v nice actor. I perfect one for a role like this.

I have thought of many things after my retirement (I know thts a long time to go), I will add Aamir's job in the movie as one of my favorites. :).
